Statley, a starting second baseman in 2017, improved his skills this off-season with his passion for the game and attention to his skills. Statley hit .280 last year for Hart, and his focus in the weight room and on his conditioning has paid off with a developing offensive game. Statley developed a knack for the key RBI during the summer, and the coaching staff expects Statley to be a difficult out in the spring. Defensively, Statley can pick ground balls and throw across the infield with the best infielders in Hart history, and his defensive legacy will only grow with an outstanding 2018 campaign. Statley provides a guiding light with the younger infielders with his role model example, and the coaching staff greatly appreciates and admires Statley’s leadership.
