Bio
Coach Wally Ruiz, a 2001 Hart High School graduate, enters his second year leading our highly talented JV team. Ruiz was born and raised in Newhall with a deeply rooted passion for the game of baseball. The former Hart utility player led the 2024 JV team to a league championship with sights of another championship on the horizon. After graduating from Hart, Coach Wally attended and graduated with his bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University.
“Having another Hart Baseball Alumni leading a young group of Hawks continues to pay dividends in the overall success of our program,” said Coach Meza. “Coach Wally does a tremendous job developing our younger players to become successful varsity contributors. His fire at practice and in the dugout is contagious. We are very lucky to have Coach Wally dedicate his time and efforts to our players at Hart.”
Wally is not only a dedicated coach but also a quality father and husband. Coach Wally and his wife, Estela, have three kids -Diego, Cruz, and Valentina- each contribute their unique energy and joy to his life. Along with leading the JV Hawks and working as a campus supervisor at Hart, Wally runs his son Diego’s 9u baseball club – Los Caballeros. With his emphasis on hard work, dedication, and love for the game he is sure to have a successful career in baseball.
