Coach Bob Keown epitomizes the concept of dedication and loyalty as the veteran assistant coach begins his 32nd season in the Hart dugout, and Coach Keown believes this year’s pitching staff might be one of the deepest in school history.  A former Hart left-handed pitcher, Coach Keown has dedicated countless hours to coaching baseball,  beginning his career in 1978 at Saugus HS and ultimately returning to his alma mater in 1989.  Coach Keown’s service for Hart HS was recognized in 2015 with his addition to the Hart Baseball Wall of Fame.  

“Coach Keown’s quiet demeanor belies an individual passionate about his school, passionate about the players and their future, and passionate about the game of baseball.  Coach expects the players to dedicate themselves to their improvement both academically and athletically, and his years of service for me are greatly appreciated,” said Coach Ozella.  “It is an honor to coach in the same dugout as Coach Keown, and the players are blessed with his dedication.”

Coach Keown, a retired Hart School District Maintenance Field Supervisor, has fulfilled numerous coaching duties such as pitching coach, outfield coach and bench coach.  Coach Keown and his wife Pam reside in Saugus.
