Coach Novoa joins Hart varsity for the 2023 season after his past four years in the program, and the former LA City Poly Parrot provides guidance to the team’s catchers and pitchers.  Novoa, a former Head Coach and assistant coach on the JV level at Hart, has been a fixture in his five years at Hart with his efforts including the summer VIBL teams, the fall-winter programs and the successful spring squads.  Coach Novoa began his coaching career at his alma mater, LA City Poly HS, and the Indians are fortunate for the former Parrot’s move to the Newhall campus.

“Ruben has provided years of guidance to our players in the program, and his passion for coaching and the game of baseball is evident with his love of being on the field.  I am very fortunate to have Ruben’s dedication and have continually been impressed with his insight,” said Coach Ozella.  “Coach will be a positive asset on the varsity level.”

Coach Novoa, a current student at Long Beach State, appreciates the role model efforts of his family in guiding him through the years.  Ruben’s father is a professional truck driver, and both of his brothers have graduated from their collegiate studies.  The guidance and motivation of Coach Novoa’s family has been greatly appreciated by Coach, and his guidance inspires the players in reaching for the correct priorities in life.
