McCarty, a junior middle infielder, wields a dangerous bat and should contribute for the Indians in 2024. McCarty, one of the top hitters last year on the JV squad, can hit line drives to all fields and usually displays a clutch at-bat with runners in scoring position. McCarty revels in the execution game and has shown the ability to bunt in key situations. Defensively, McCarty displays a flair to handle the glove, roll double plays on a regular basis and make the tough play on topped balls. McCarty’s range and arm strength have improved with his passion for the weight room and conditioning, and the coaching staff is excited about his future.
