Perez, a speedy senior middle infielder, hit .293 in 2023. His on-base talents (12 walks) allow him to steal bases (11 stolen bases) and score runs for the Indians. Offensively, Perez’s improvement this fall and winter revolves around his better use of his lower body and additional strength from his dedicated efforts in the weight room. Perez’s offensive skills are key to Hart’s offense by setting the table for RBI hitters in the middle of the lineup. In the field, Perez has the talents to become a defensive stalwart with great overall quickness, improving footwork, and an above-average throwing arm. The coaching staff expects Perez’s 2024 performance to be a key element in Hart’s success this spring.
