Cooper, a three-year starting pitcher on the varsity, compiled an outstanding 2023 season by recording a 7-2 slate with a low 1.54 ERA. Cooper dominated the opposing batters by striking out 56 hitters in his 50 innings, and the Hart coaching staff expects improved performances in 2024. Cooper’s command has improved with attention to detail, and his breaking ball has tightened up while seeing it break deeper in the zone. Cooper’s change-up is quickly becoming an asset, and Cooper’s efforts at improvement are inspiring. Cooper, an outstanding athlete, fields his position well and displays his athleticism by covering first base on ground balls.
